The following tools can be used to address some of the requirements of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education
(GIPWE), Chapter 5, New Program Approval Process.

Targeted Occupations List by Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA): This list allows institutions to look at their regions targeted occupations
as determined by the LWDA. For information about the targeted occupations, institutions should call their LWDA representative or link
to http://www.twc.state.tx.us/dirs/wdbs/wdbmap.html for a directory of board contacts.

Governor's State Targeted Occupations: This link will take you to the Governor's State Targeted Occupations
http://www.texascaresonline.com/top25/top25.asp?which=GT. The list provides data on openings, wages and educational requirements on occupations that
have been identified by the Governor as State targeted occupations.

Texas Employment Projections 2006-2016: This link will take you to the latest occupational projections for

The projections are also available by Local Workforce Development Area including information on adding the most projected annual average job openings as well as by education
